Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Acts 2:41

Mission of 1000 Souls

1000 Souls was birthed out of time alone with my Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ. During some time alone with Him one day I became burdened with a commission to pray and in some way participate in His glorious salvation of 1000 souls. I began to compile a written list of people for whom I wanted to pray and asked that He continue to give me new souls to for which to intercede. One day after I had been blogging for a while at One Sacrifice For All Time, I thought it would be wonderful to provide a public place to lift these people up to the Lord and allow His miracle working power to be seen before all men. I invite you to join me by leaving a comment at any time with the initials of souls for which you are currently praying to our Lord. Let's intercede; No, let's beg together for those who are perishing.

Father,

It is with fear and trembling that I boldly enter into Your presence on behalf of the souls on this blog and around the world who are currently in the grips of our great enemy. Father, Your Word promises me that if I ask anything according to Your will that You will hear my prayer and grant my request. Father, I aslo know that Your Word says that You are not willing that ANY SHOULD PERISH, but that ALL should come to repentance and salvation in Jesus Christ. Father, this goes beyond simply reciting a prayer or making a mental decision. I am asking based upon Your Holy Word that each and every soul that is represented on this blog and that happens upon this blog will have an encounter with the One and True Living ALMIGHTY GOD that is so real that it brings them to their knees in repentance seeking mercy. Father, I do not want to pray for more false converts, but rather that true repentance will sweep the land and lost souls will be rescued from everlasting fire and damnation. It is in Your Holy Name and by Your Holy Power that I declare war against the enemy of their souls and boldly ask that You answer the prayer of Your daughter who is only burdened for them because You have chosen to burden me!

Praise be to Your Holy
Name for what You will do through this blog. I love, worship, and honor You
forever and always.

Amen

Prayer

Well, it's been quite a while since I've been over here to write. Writing a series on prayer (or at least wanting to) led me into some more house cleaning that God needed to do first. Same thing on my "One Sacrifice" blog. I started writing on Spiritual Warfare, got to the second verse in the passage, and BAM, God stopped me to do some pruning. (You'll have to go over there to find out what I am talking about).

Before I start on #3 of the "Principles of Powerful Prayer", I will just tell you that I may not get this series finished before the end of the year. I hope I do, but God is slowing me down and calling me into a prayer ministry at church and home. I am sensing that He is calling me to a year alone in His Word (actually I think He has been telling me this for a while and I have been in rebellion over it). Please keep praying for souls and please consider adding to my list here. I have a long list on paper that I need to update here and I desire to keep praying for miracles through this blog.

God has temporarily stopped me on #2: A humble heart to reveal how prideful mine still was in some areas. However, just know for sure that declaring God's goodness to Him is definitely the place to start in powerful prayer. I'll be back soon to give you more.

Blessings,

Amanda

Who am I to argue with God?

Romans 9:16-35 (New Living Translation)

16 So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.

17 For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.” 18 So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen.

19 Well then, you might say, “Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven’t they simply done what he makes them do?”

20 No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into? 22 In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction. 23 He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory. 24 And we are among those whom he selected, both from the Jews and from the Gentiles.

25 Concerning the Gentiles, God says in the prophecy of Hosea,

“Those who were not my people,
I will now call my people.
And I will love those
whom I did not love before.”

26 And, “Then, at the place where they were told,
‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called
‘children of the living God.’”

27 And concerning Israel, Isaiah the prophet cried out,
“Though the people of Israel are as numerous as the sand of the seashore,
only a remnant will be saved.
28 For the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth
quickly and with finality.”

29 And Isaiah said the same thing in another place:
“If the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
had not spared a few of our children,
we would have been wiped out like Sodom,
destroyed like Gomorrah.”

30 What does all this mean? Even though the Gentiles were not trying to follow God’s standards, they were made right with God. And it was by faith that this took place. 31 But the people of Israel, who tried so hard to get right with God by keeping the law, never succeeded. 32 Why not? Because they were trying to get right with God by keeping the law instead of by trusting in him. They stumbled over the great rock in their path. 33 God warned them of this in the Scriptures when he said,
“I am placing a stone in Jerusalem that makes people stumble,
a rock that makes them fall.
But anyone who trusts in him
will never be disgraced.”

I'm chewing on this passage. God is teaching me some NEW things; things that are calling into question all the OLD lessons I have learned. Not clearly understanding it yet, but welcoming and desiring the time with HIM to find the answers. I light of all the lies and half-truths put out by our nation and even by some who I thought could be trusted; I no longer rule out new information that calls to question long held beliefs. I must get to the TRUTH of God's WORD without biased man-made opinions. I encourage you to do the same. I do welcome discussion on this passage; however, but I will trust ONLY in my LORD for the final conclusion. I know that I have sinned in questioning why God made me like He did and I can only beg His forgiveness for that. I am seeking to know what HE WANTS of me and nothing else. May I be found faithful to the call despite my lack of understanding it.
